Bone and Joint Clinic of Baton Rouge Celebrates 75 Years

In 1948, the Bone and Joint Clinic of Baton Rouge (BJCBR) opened its doors as the area’s first orthopedic clinic. This earliest version of the clinic focused on providing Baton Rouge area residents with exceptional, dedicated orthopedic care from highly trained specialists. Seventy-five years later, that focus remains the same, and with the long-standing support of the community, the care provided has expanded greatly.

Today, BJCBR has five clinic locations in Baton Rouge, Brusly, Hammond, Prairieville, and Walker. It is home to nearly 200 specialized employees including 17 orthopedic physician specialists, nine licensed physician assistants, six licensed nurse practitioners, eight physical and occupational therapy specialists, certified orthopedic technicians, and radiological technologists. From initial exam and diagnosis to surgery to physical therapy and post-operative rehabilitation, BJCBR offers every orthopedic tool needed for patient success with a single provider.

BCJBR is proud of its longevity, growth, and success, but is most proud of the phenomenal impact the clinic has had on patients all across South Louisiana. Many BJCBR patients have been with the clinic for decades, have seen multiple physicians within the practice, and strongly attest to the life-changing, compassionate care they have received. As BJCBR celebrate 75 years, some of these patients and their inspirational stories will be featured via the clinic’s newly updated website, email newsletter, and social media channels.

The Bone and Joint Clinic of Baton Rouge extends our sincerest thanks to all who have entrusted us with their care over these past seven and a half decades. We look forward to treating you for many more.
