Cyst or Tumor?: Pamela Farris' Patient Story

Pamela Farris’ relationship with The Bone and Joint Clinic first began with a successful hip replacement in 2018. A couple of years later, when she discovered a mass on her wrist, she chose once again to entrust a Bone and Joint physician with her care. Her first surgeon having since retired, this time Pamela chose to set an appointment with Dr. M. Tyson Garon

Uncovering a Rare Wrist Tumor

Initially, Pamela suspected the mass on her wrist to be a ganglion cyst. However, a thorough examination by Dr. Garon, including multiple imaging tests, revealed it to actually be a rare form of tumor. Recognizing that it needed to be quickly removed, Dr. Garon booked her surgery at the Orthopedic Surgery Center (OSC), an advanced surgical center on the premises of The Bone and Joint Clinic, where he could ensure prompt and optimal care.

Recovering from Wrist Surgery

The results of the procedure were immediately promising, albeit with a gradual recovery process. Following her surgery, Pamela experienced some initial numbness in her hand, which subsided after a few days. She diligently followed the post-operative instructions, refraining from heavy lifting and engaging in hand exercises multiple times a day. Though not yet fully recovered, Pamela has already noticed an incredible reduction in pain, specifically in her hand and arm up to her elbow.

Praise for a Skilled Hand Surgeon

Pamela speaks highly of Dr. Garon and her results, emphasizing not only his skill as a hand surgeon but his compassion for his patients, their health, and their comfort. She notes that he took the time to listen to her concerns while also ensuring a comprehensive understanding of her symptoms and needs. In the end, his expertise and dedication to providing the best care possible left a lasting impression on Pamela.

“I absolutely love Dr. Garon,” she says. “He is always so professional and concerned for your well-being. He takes the time to listen to his patients. Without hesitation, I would recommend him and The Bone and Joint Clinic.”
